Team Kaos was scheduled to send two riders to Iowa and Missouri this weekend. But Mother Nature wasn't cooperating.
Bryan Redemske will be racing in the Finchford-Roubaix spring classic circuit race Sunday in Finchford, Iowa. The 50-mile race begins at 12:30 p.m. and makes 10 laps of a rolling, five-mile circuit.
Matt Landen's plans to head to St Louis for the Tilles Park Spring Criterium were thrown for a loop when the race promoters canceled the event due to the threat of bad weather. Rainy, cold (low 40s) conditions and the threat of snow were the deciding factors, said James Roseberry of the Gateway Cycling Club.

Team Kaos will once again be a part of the Omaha Police Department's Southeast Precinct community event.
This year's "Safe Neighborhood Fair" is scheduled for Sunday, June 10, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Columbus Park at 24th & Woolworth Avenue. Children and parents are invited to attend and learn about safety and good health.
Members of Team Kaos will conduct a bicycle safety inspection and bicycle maintenance, as well as guide children through a bicycle safety course. Participants will also have a chance to register to win a bicycle.
"It is events such as these that we take pride in participating in as much as we do when we win races," Team Kaos spokesman Sean Weide said. "By being able to make contact with a large number of children at one time, we know we can make a difference when it comes to teaching the importance of wearing a helmet and following the rules of the road."
Team Kaos is available to put on bicycle safety clinics in elementary and preschool settings. To schedule a clinic, contact Weide at (402) 551-5124.

Des Moines, Iowa - Matt Landen delivered another podium finish for Team Kaos on its first weekend of Midwest racing with his third place in Sunday's Iowa State Fairgrounds Criterium in Des Moines.
Landen broke away with two others 10 minutes into the 50-minutes-plus-two-laps race on the one-mile circuit. The trio worked together to eventually lap the field. But Landen, who is in his first season with Team Kaos, couldn't out-sprint either of his breakaway companions.

Altoona, Iowa - Matt Landen of Team Kaos scored a runner-up finish in the Category III race and teammate Ian Gray was third in the Cat. I-II division at Saturday's All9Yards.com Altoona Spring Road Race.
On the third of five laps around the rolling, 13.5-mile circuit Landen attacked as the Cat. I-II field was overtaking the Cat. III peloton. Only two others could follow.
"Unfortunately, I lost the leader's wheel in the last mile," Landen said.
Gray earned his third place spot on the podium with a breakaway during his 81-mile race that saw rain fall, then give way to sunshine, only to be followed by more rain. Gray crossed the finish line in a torrential downpour that included some hail.
In the 54-mile women's race, Team Kaos' Morgan Chaffin never recovered from a rough start.
