Oct. 15 — More than two dozen cyclists from Omaha, Lincoln and surrounding areas joined Colavita-Sutter Homes pro Todd Herriott on a training ride Saturday morning.
Herriott, a 1987 graduate of Elkhorn Mt. Michael High School, was invited to participate in the ride by Team Kaos President Marco Vasquez. Herriott's visit to Omaha coincided with a friend's wedding.
The only American to win the Tour of Cuba, Herriott recently re-signed with Colavita for the 2006 season. He was the team's captain in 2005 after signing with the team in 2004.
"This is a great turnout," Herriott said before leaving from Team Kaos' bicycle shop sponsor, Bike Masters at 129th & Fort. "It's nice to see so many people come out on a Saturday morning for a ride."
