Oct. 22 — Team Kaos’ Tommie Ralston and Tim Farnham each rode to second-place finishes Saturday at the season-opening race of the 2005 Nebraska Cyclo-cross Series.
Early afternoon showers on the cold, gray-skied day made conditions treacherous on the one-mile course at Standing Bear Lake in northwest Omaha. Ralston finished second behind Troy Krause of LBC/Highgear in the Men’s B race, while Farnham was runner-up to Team X’s Harold Parker in the single speed category.

"I was way overgeared," Farnham said. "While the course where I won on at Indian Caves was fairly flat, this one had that hill on the back side. I couldn’t have been reaching more than 50 rpms."
Other Team Kaos top five placers included Ted Blume, fourth place in the Masters 45+ race and Theresa Blume, third place in the women’s division.
Steve Tilford of HRRC-Specialized easily captured the Men's A race. |
