Dec. 8 – Cyclists with valid USCF licenses will benefit from a new online event registration partner that USA Cycling has lined up for 2006.
Sports Base Online will automatically provide race promoters with a cyclist's registration information. After the event, promoters can easily input the results and quickly upload them to USA Cycling.
“All they have to do is walk up (at the race), show us their license, we scan the bar code and they sign and it’s done,” said Sports Bae Online's Marek Shon. “In addition, every time they register on Sports Base Online, we donate a portion of that registration to USA Cycling, who in turn donates a portion back to the membership through its local associations. Every time someone registers on the SBO site, they’re helping cycling across the nation, and ultimately in their own backyard.”
No longer will riders have to rewrite their registration information for every race entered. SportsBaseOnline.com pulls it directly from the rider’s license both on the Web when they register and onsite at sign in.
All racers need to do is log onto www.usacycling.org, find the event they want to register for, and they’ll instantly be linked to pertinent registration information. Riders can also visit www.sportsbaseonline.com to find race listings and registration.
